We were both born and raised in Mississippi, but have settled down in Sunny Florida. We are blessed with a wonderful son, Colten, who was born October 29th, 2008. We are so lucky to be blessed beyond belief!

Great Weekend!
I actually had an ENTIRE WEEKEND with my husband! It's so unusual for him to be off Saturday and Sunday! We had a nice lazy day Saturday, complete with lunch at McDonalds and a trip to Walmart to get some things for our upcoming trip back home! Then, Colten and I cuddled up in my big bed and took a nice, long 3 hour nap! I loved having Colten sleeping beside me!
Today was a busier day. Michael and I tackled our much-neglected bedroom. We cleaned and cleaned and cleaned! We even dusted the baseboards and vaccummed underneath the bed! We did about 5 loads of laundry and got the house all nice and clean! Michael was such an awesome help!
We will be leaving for Mississippi Thursday evening after Michael gets off of work. We are so excited about getting to see our family! We're even bringing Roxi!

Sometimes you get discouraged
Because I am so small
And always leave my fingerprints
On furniture and walls.
But every day I'm growing
I'll be grown up someday
And all those tiny handprints
Will surely fade away.
So here's a final handprint
Just so you can recall
Exactly how my fingers looked
When I was very small
...This poem was inside my mother's day card that Colten made for me at daycare. There was also his handprint inside! I love this poem, and it makes me cry every time. I love that little boy more than I ever imagined I could love anything. He's such a blessing. He's my own little piece of heaven!
Michael is working a double shift tonight, so it has been just Colten and I. I showed him how to jump in the puddles that were left over after today's rain storm. It was such a blast watching him splash around for the very first time! We had a great dinner and spent some quality time together. During dinner, it started to thunder. He loved the sound and just got all giddy whenever he heard the sound! I have a cute video coming up!
Now for some pictures of our day today:

Mother's Day!
This is my first mother's day at home. Usually, I travel to Mississippi to attend Decoration Day at my great-grandmother's church in Eupora. We go to a special church service and have a big lunch, Baptist style. New flowers are placed on the graves and we pay our respects. I have my grandmother, grandfather, great-grandfather, great great grandmother, and probably some other relatives buried there. It's a special place that holds lots of memories. We were unable to go, since we'll be traveling back home in just 3 weeks!
Michael and I were both actually off from work yesterday, so we went to the Riverside Arts Market in downtown Jacksonville. It's held every Saturday during most months of the year. Imagine a prarie arts festival every Saturday! It was awesome! We met up with a good friend of mine and had a good time walking around. They had music, and Colten got to break down some dance moves! We then did some shopping, since our little man needed some shoes!
My mother's day has been great so far! I got a pair of Opal earrings and an opal necklace. Michael is also getting two of my rings sized so that I can wear them! Opal is Colten's birthstone! They are so pretty! I'm wearing them with my pajamas right now! He's also cooking me sausage and pancakes! then I get to take a nap. Whatever will I do with all of this pampering!
Happy mother's day to the most amazing mom on earth, my mamma Dianne Holman. She's sacrificed her whole life just to make her children happy. She always puts her children first, even if it means she has to do without. I just pray that I can be half the mother that she is. She's also one of my very best friends. I can talk to her about anything and she always gives the greatest advice. I love you, mamma!
Now for the pictures!

3 Weeks and Counting....
JUST 3 MORE WEEKS and I'll be in Mississippi for 4 Glorious days! My sister is having her bridal shower, and it is my 10 Year High School Reunion. But most of all, I'm looking forward to seeing all of my family...and I just can't wait to show off my amazing little boy. He is such a light in my life. How did I become so incredibly blessed? An amazing husband and one perfect little boy. I just couldn't ask for more!
Colten has been getting up in the middle of the night, only to wake up the next morning at 3, 4, or 5 a.m! Needless to say, I am exhausted! Michael let me take a nap today, and he took Colten outside to play and cooked an amazing dinner! It was soo sweet of him!
Now for pictures to share! Michael and Colten had a blast playing with this empty box! The last few pictures are from today, where I found Colten sitting ON TOP OF our kitchen table eating my left overs. He was very hungry today!
